In 2006 28 countries took part and this Festival is continuing in 2007 and is consolidating well.

June 2005 - Inaugural event: 20 - 26th June 2005

A week to celebrate the Earth and human solidarity between nations, together.

The WORLDWIDE EARTH FESTIVAL is a grand festive event honouring the planet Earth. It is planned to take place in June 2005 for one week.

It will permit all the peoples of the planet, with their diversity, to gather and celebrate a new relationship with the Earth.

The Festival will be a worldwide window to showcase all the initiatives in favour of Sustainable Ecology, Peace and Solidarity between peoples.

Events and demonstrations promoting the human values of the Festival

erralliance, an association based in France and the initiator of the project, proposes a week of events called The Heart of the Festival -

From Monday 20th of June to Sunday 26th of June 2005.


Peripheral Events
of national and international dimension will carry the values of the Festival beyond the borders.

Worldwide participation

The concept is to encourage all countries to participate creatively and actively in this event. This multilingual web site is open to all organisations, associations, NGO's and individuals who wish to participate in the Festival.

Each country will be the responsible for organising its own local events and is also most welcome to sign up for "inter-country" events.

Wednesday 18 - 84 St Georges Crescent. Drummoyne, 6.00pm for nibbles and 6.30 Start. Finish 8.00pm unless we want more. RSVP is essential for this one, please. I'm keen to hear the views of folks about the effect of our use of time on our quality of life. What is the relationship between the two?

Thursday 26 - Sappho Books Glebe Point Road Glebe, (Just a few doors from the Post Office) 6.00pm till 8.00pm or other by agreement. So what books have inspired you? Come share with us, something you have read that changed your world view in some way. Other types of events are being planned for later. Watch out for Conversation Café's especially.

Earth Charter Victoria

Thursday 6.30pm - 8.00pm - The Earth Charter is a concise, but inclusive ethical framework for building a more peaceful, equitable and just society. The Earth Charter consists of 16 principles which centre on the following 4 themes: Respect and Care for the Community of Life, Ecological Integrity, Social and Economic Justice and Democracy, Non violence and Peace. Earth Charter Victoria is made up of a diverse group of individuals who meet once a month to talk about ways of implementing and promoting the Earth Charter in Victoria. Anyone is welcome to join us. February to October in 2003 - Call for papers and registration - In Search of Sustainability (ISOS). An Internet conference on sustainability held over nine months from February. A different theme will be addressed each month beginning with water. (energy will be covered during May).
